How we help
1 in 8 Canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer affecting men in Canada with more than 24,000 new cases expected to be diagnosed this year. Approximately 420 of those cases will be diagnosed in our province with 75 who will lose their battle.
Our organization offers one-on-one prostate cancer peer support with other cancer survivors by either face-to-face, telephone or online services. Since the start of our program, our volunteers have made prostate cancer awareness presentations to an average of 2,000 individuals a year. We help to direct people to available services such as Cancer Patient Navigators, and Social Workers.
